Work Based Learning


You can gain a work based Qualification which is delivered in the workplace and supported by regular assessor visits. They will meet with you to carry out observations, deliver knowledge sessions and help you build your portfolio of evidence to achieve a qualification whilst doing your job. 


Each qualification is made up of units and credits which you choose in relation to your job role and you can achieve it over a period of one year.

Apprenticeships are available
 for 16-24 year olds wishing to follow a career in Logistics,  Business Administration and/or Customer Service.  Employed young people can gain a qualification whilst at work supported by Government funding.

A14 Training Services can offer NVQs in the following areas 

Supply Chain Operative Warehouse
 – for warehouse operatives (Level 2) - 
Your assessor visits you regularly and you create a portfolio of work that involves logs, documents and statements, which can be recorded or written, in conjunction with your employer.  

Management  (level 3)
  -  
Candidates who are starting in a management role and wish to create a portfolio of evidence to show competence..


Business Administrator (Level 3)  - 
For the general administration worker whether first starting in the office or returning to work to show competence in the role. 


Customer Service (Level 2) – 
Candidates who are working in a customer linking role whether it be in an office, retail outlet or over the telephone – customers are being dealt with daily – this qualification shows competence in delivering reliable and quality customer service. 


Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement  (TAQA) -  known previously as A1 Assessor Award 
This qualification is for mentors who wish to support their apprentices or colleagues following an NVQ or internal standards. To achieve this qualification, you build your portfolio by helping your candidates.  Support and guidance is given by your assessor to achieve your assessor award whilst carrying out observations with your candidates.  There is one unit covering the knowledge and this is achieved by writing an assignment against the standards.If your company follows detailed procedures which are checked and assessed for quality - this is a qualification which gives you a recognised certificate to add to the Quality System.  


Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment  Processes and Practices - known (previously as V1 Verifier Award)
For those who are part of the internal quality assurance processes and who lead a team of internal quality assurance staff. Support and guidance  is given to experienced assessors who wish to achieve their Internal Verifier award where candidates are in a quality role within an NVQ Centre. phone for further information - 01379 854486
